In memoriam of a kind, gentle woman who laughed easily and loved the black bees.

We have just heard of Susanne’s untimely death and mourn her passing deeply. I met her almost 15 years ago, when she came to our village in search of her beloved black bees. We lent her our house while she looked for a home of her own here in the Aude, and over the years we always enjoyed bumping into her.

We were delighted when she finally bought her little house here in Puivert a few years ago - she told us that it was fated that she would own the little turreted building. We’re saddened that she didn’t get to enjoy it longer.
